Working Together

Greetings!

I am excited to have the chance to work with you, and I want to do everything I can to ensure that all parties involved have a good experience and that communication is successful.

If for any reason there is a cancellation, change in venue or time, please let me know. On the same note, if for some reason I am unable to make it, I will be sure to send you an email letting you know, and the scheduling office will make every effort to find a replacement interpreter.

Thank you in advance for any information you may be able to provide, and I look forward to working with you this semester.

Information for Professors:

I have been added to MyCourses, but if you have any additional course related information such as: agenda, handouts, powerpoint presentations, notes or details of what will be discussed, I would greatly appreciate receiving a copy (digital or print) of prior to class so that I can prepare for the lecture.

It is my goal to ensure that things go as smoothly as possible, so if at any point you have questions or concerns about the interpreting process, please feel free to get in touch with me.

As a final note, if you have plans to show any visual media during your class, please refer to the following link to read Provost Jeremy Haefner's guidelines for captioning audio-visual media: If videos are not captioned, Deaf students are forced to choose between watching us interpret or watching the visual information in the video. Thank you for providing full access to the videos shown in class by making sure they are captioned.

While this video was made for a business setting, the same principles apply in academia.

Information for Students:

If you will not be attending class, if class is canceled during the semester, or if the schedule changes, please let me know.

On the same note, if for some reason I am unable to make it to class, I will be sure to send you an email letting you know, and the scheduling office will make every effort to find a replacement interpreter.

It is my goal to ensure that things go as smoothly as possible, so if at any point you have questions or concerns about the interpreting process, please feel free to get in touch with me.

Working together on Zoom

The link I am providing (below) leads to a set of slides providing information on the best practices for recording zoom meetings while working with an interpreter. This information may or may not pertain to you, or to the classes that you teach where I will be interpreting for you, but I wanted to ensure that you had access to it in the event that you happen to need it. We have found that by following the instructions included within this set of slides to create a dynamic recording, all students are able to more fully access the information presented when viewing the recordings.

If you have any questions or concerns about this information, please feel free to get in touch with me, or better yet (because they know more than I do), with members of the Content Production Team who's email addresses are included at the end of the slides.
